THE ROARING 20’S AND THE SOMBER 30’S

This class will explore the roaring, jazz age music of the 20’s and the somber more introspective work of the 30’s. Students will pick both Broadway and popular songs of the era and will present them in front of an audience.

INTENSIVE 1

TWO DAY BOOT CAMP

TWO DAYS TWO SONGS WITH A SHOW BELTERS PARADISE

Calling all big, bawdy, belters! Big voices are exciting and fun.  This technique sprang up before there were microphones and is still revered today.  Think you can belt? Come on down! In this weekend intensive students will learn, polish two brassy songs! Students will present songs in front of an audience at the end of the second day.

DECADES 2

THE SWINGING 40’S AND ROCKIN 50’S

This class will explore the music of the 40’s and 50’s stage, screen, popular (rock, swing, jazz, standards, blues etc.) Students will pick both Broadway and popular songs of the era and will present them in front of an audience.

REVOLUTIONARY  60’S and 70’s

TIMES were a-changin’ for sure during these two tumultuous decades! In this class we will explore the music of the 60’s and 70’s stage, screen, popular (rock, swing, jazz, standards, blues etc.) Students will pick both Broadway and popular songs of the era and will present them in front of an audience

CHANGING WORLD 80’s – 1999

Cold war, nuclear fear and Y2K were on the horizon! This class will explore the music of the 80’s and 90’s stage, screen, popular (rock, pop, indie, grunge and more) Students will pick both Broadway and popular songs of the era and will present them in front of an audience

SUMMER BOOT CAMP

ONLY LOVE SONGS

Love songs…any decade any style.  Come explore the world of romance through song be it bright and pretty or dark and dirty! In this weekend intensive students will learn, polish two songs from this genre including any works from the 20th Century cannon of songs or current 21st century songs that COULD be used as such.  All ideas are welcome. Students will present songs in front of an audience at the end of the second day.
